Tourist tax 

The tax rate for this accommodation facility is Euro 6 per person per night exclusively to be paid locally to the staff in cash.

From 1 July 2011 the Municipality of Florence has established the tourist tax with resolution of the City Council no.

 

230/33 of 06/20/2011, integrated with resolution no. 21/2012.

 

The tax applies to overnight stays of guests not resident in the Municipality of Florence and for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights.

 

The following exemptions are provided:

 

a) minors up to the age of twelve;

 

b) individuals who assist patients hospitalized in local health facilities, including in day hospital regime, for a maximum of two companions per patient;

 

c) patients undergoing hospital treatment on a day hospital basis;

 

d) students enrolled at the University of Florence

 

e) personnel belonging to the police forces, the national fire brigade and civil protection who, for exclusive service needs, and limited to the duration of the same, they stay in the accommodation facilities present in the municipal area.

 

f) severely disabled people, whose disability condition is certified pursuant to art. 3 paragraph

 

3 of law n°104/92 and similar provisions of the countries of origin for foreign citizens.

 

g) employees of accommodation facilities who stay there for exclusive work needs. A 50% reduction in the tourist tax is also foreseen in the following cases:

 

a) school groups of middle and high schools on an educational visit;

 

b) athletes under the age of 16, members of sports groups participating in initiatives and tournaments organized in collaboration with the Municipal Administration.
